Hello Artists!

We invite you to our monthly meeting on Thur. March 19, 2026. Learn how to do simple, loose landscapes in watercolor featuring trees, using masking tape! Our workshop will be led by Conni Schaftenaar, who will show us how to use masking tape to make realistic trees.

Bring:

One of your artworks for Artist’s Choice, and

1. 2-3 small sheets of watercolor paper - 5x7 or 4x6 (you can make postcards for Flat River’s upcoming exhibit!)
2. have the paper taped down on a board or use a small block of watercolor paper, have several ready as you can work on 2-3
3. Blue or green paint masking tape, or other low-tack tape, like white watercolor tape
4. Watercolor paints and your favorite smaller brushes
5. no reference photos needed, but if you have some you want to use for inspiration, feel free! with the “optional” items, if several people have them and you don’t, we can share
6. Optional list:
7. mister bottle with a fine spray (optional)
8. spray bottle with heavier spray (optional)
9. scissors (optional)
10. razor blade for scratching (optional)
