Conni Schaftenaar started painting in watercolors several years ago, originally to do a promotional calendar for her marketing business to give to clients each year. They were so well received that people encouraged her to sell them and she creates new calendars with her art every year. She also paints with alcohol ink, creating a variety of types of images in that medium, works with colored pencil, does collage, and is working with a digital pencil doing digital art.

She is a juried member of the Rivertown Artists’ Guild. She was selected Artist of the Year for the group for 2019.

She has had pieces juried into Festival of the Arts Exhibition in Grand Rapids for the past several years.

She has had paintings juried in to the Tulip Time Top 20 several times.
